2010 Roc De Cambes

Cotes Du Bourg

Roc de Cambes is based in the Côtes de Bourg region of Bordeaux and is widely regarded as the finest producer in the appellation. It was bought in 1988 by François Mitjavile, owner of Château Le Tetre-Rôtebouef in St-Emilion, and has since gone from strength to strength with the quality of wines being produced. The combination of heavy investment in the vineyard and the cellar applied to excellent quality old vine fruit has led to rich, stylish, full-bodied wines of great harmony and balance. Elegantly scented and pronounced on the nose, this fine wine displays aromas of blackcurrant, plums, olive, cedar, coffee and dark chocolate. Silky and round in the mouth with a subtle ripeness and mouth-coating quality, flavours of cassis, vanilla, mocha and savoury spice all feature on a focused mid-palate before extending out to a persistent complex finish. A great alternative to St Emilion and Pommerol, this wine will age splendidly over the next 10 years and beyond.
